With a little more than two weeks until the debut of Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice, movie chains have begun to presell tickets. Regal Entertainment Group, the largest theater circuit in the United States, announced that the sold out of all 1,000 “Regal Ultimate” tickets they had put up for the public to buy.
That’s not that big of a deal. The big deal is that they sold all of the presale tickets in under 24 hours. If you didn’t know the Regal Ultimate ticket is designed for the super fan. The ticket gets you admission to the movie every day that it is in theaters. Yes, 1,000 super fans (read: nerds) are now in possession of golden tickets that will allow them to watch Ben Affleck take Bruce Wayne to the mean streets of Boston.
“Fans fervently purchased these Ultimate tickets at a record pace,” said Ken Thewes, Chief Marketing Office at Regal Entertainment Group. “The appetite for Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice has been incredible, and we at Regal are proud to satisfy those with the Ultimate Ticket.”
I didn’t even know that Ultimate Tickets were a thing, but if you’re a super fan (again: nerd) and really enjoy Batman and/or Superman then this might have been the deal of a lifetime. The tickets retailed for $100. So if the movie stays in theaters 3 months and an Ultimate Ticket holder hits a showing everyday they’ll be paying $1.11 per viewing. Not a bad deal.
